Eng. Njeru is the Managing Director and founder of Riva Petroleum dealers, one of East Africa’s successfully developed local oil companies with footprints across many parts of the region. As the founder, Eng. Njeru is responsible for executing Riva Petroleum dynamic business strategy and leading the robust corporate governance team towards achieving the set goals. He brings to Riva a strategic focus on the development and growth of value added services. He is passionate about quality customer care and sustenance of long term development of relations with Riva stakeholders.

Eng. Njeru embarked on this fruitful venture of his career in Riva Petroleum in 1996, a family owned company after working for a decade in the Ministry of Roads and Public Works as a Roads and Highway Engineer. He beams in over 20 years of business experience in operation, sales and finance in the fuel and lubricants business.

His career was highlighted when he received a State commendation (E.B.S) from H.E. the president of Republic of Kenya for outstanding contribution to the economy and support to society on 12th December 2011, in Nairobi. He also received a mark of ethics award (ELNET) in November 2016 for being an ethical leader and was a finalist at the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the year awards for East Africa in November 2011.
As a result-driven business leader, he has a proven track record of over two decades of management success along with a respected reputation for significantly improving operational productivity and customer service. He has successfully managed and developed the business from a small reseller to a fully-fledged oil marketing company with petrol stations, offices and investments across Kenya and Uganda. Eng. Njeru has also ventured in the real estate industry and he is a director at FREDS Limited, Fusion Capital Limited, Hand in Hand East Africa Limited, Jamu Homes Limited, Key 3 properties Limited, Briken (EA) and South Lake Developments Limited.
He is highly active in his community contributing his time and expertise to the boards of several charitable, development and professional organizations. These include being the current Chairman of Petroleum Industry Association of Kenya (PIAK), a member of the Supplycor Committee, International vice president of IFES, Chairman of NACPA and trustee of Nakuru Christian Professionals Association. He formerly was a FOCUS Coordinating Council member, Chairman finance committee of University of Eldoret, trustee and fundraising committee of Biblica International, member of KRA Local Committee Centre Rift Region, BOG member of Menengai and Nakuru High schools and Chairman of Nakuru Business Association He graduated with honors of BSC Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi in 1984 and is a registered engineer with Engineers Board of Kenya. Later he advanced his studies by attaining an MBA (Finance) from Egerton University.
He is married to Dr. Dorcas Njagi and they have two grown-up daughters. He has been recognized for his high work ethics, excellent standards and support to youth development and training institutions in the region.
